The 9th edition of Turkey Giveaway will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 within th Golden Acres Community Center at 1050 NW 18th Drive in Pompano Beach.
The inspiration for the “Turkey Give Away” came from a 2010 request from attorney and Florida Rep. Perry Thurston, who saw many families in need within his district as Thanksgiving approached. The Law offices of Farmer Jaffe, et. al. purchased 75 turkeys for families in Senator Thurston’s district, with the attorneys driving around the Sunday before Thanksgiving to distribute the turkeys. One year later, the attorneys ramped up the program to ensure 250 turkeys were distributed to families, along with all of the traditional Thanksgiving side dishes. In each subsequent year, 700 full turkey dinners have been given out.
More than 2,000 people in South Florida are fed every Thanksgiving through the Turkey Give Away!
Steven Jaffe is honored to continue this wonderful tradition. Thanks to our partnership with the Law Offices of Perry Thurston, Kappa Alpha PSI, and Lawlor, White & Murphey, we continue to expand our reach. In 2017 we ventured into Deerfield Beach and Dania Beach to deliver an additional 125 turkey dinners. We hope to continue with your support. Thanks to the generous contributions of our friends, families and colleagues, we will keep changing lives, one turkey at a time.

Our devoted volunteers will pick up 600, 10 – 12 pound turkeys from our local grocery store. Several attorneys join the young men of Kappa Alpha PSI and anyone else who is willing to help load the truck.
Eager volunteers with a heart for serving meet at our Pompano donation site to mingle with residents, play games and distribute toys. Volunteers and residents join together for a light lunch and some inspirational words.
Volunteers set out on their journey to distribute turkeys and all the fixing’s. Groups of all sizes go door to door to place the food directly in the resident’s home.
As in years past, service hours are available for any students who help out.
